Red Barn

The rhetorical question "where you born in a barn" that is inevitably asked when someone leaves a door open makes no sense. Isn't a barn the one place you want to keep the door closed and wouldn't someone born in such a place understand that? Hopefully, no one asked Jesus this question since he was born in a barn, or a stable, which I think has to be in a barn, or did they make stand alone stables back then? Maybe he intentionally left doors open hoping someone would say something. "Yes, I was in fact born in a barn. Thank you for asking."
