To be honest, I really wanted a picture of a sun dial here. Still, clock towers represent some good history on the eve of the new year. When nobody owned timepieces, the people had to look to the tower so they weren't late for their pedicures or what not. Now, they apparently aren't worth keeping up as this tower in downtown Pittsburgh exemplifies. Full disclosure, I have no idea if the other two clock faces were working or not. Couldn't they have them using the same mechanism? Imagine long ago when Bob from one side of town was going to meet Joe who lived on the other side of town at a certain time, but the faces of the tower each used gave a different time. Joe and Bob would no longer be friends.
