Magnet Used to Set a Watch

I have bad luck with watches. I don't think I am too rough on them, though I used to have a job where my hands were used in more of a typing capacity. The watch before this, a Fossil that I got in the Caribbean thinking I was getting this great deal when actual it was retail, and that watch had the second hand fall off. This one was solar powered, making me believe it would require no maintenance. Then the crown broke, and I could only change the day. Never fear, just throw a magnet on the watch to stop the movement, then wait for that time of day to remove said magnet. Well, maybe I'll just use my phone.
