I've managed to avoid glasses thus far in this life, and was hoping to pass it on to the kids. It was not to be as one has eye sight so bad that she makes a bat look it has 20/20 vision. I couldn't tell her what it would be like, and I promised no less than three times that "today was the day she was getting glasses" when the whole process takes many visits. At least they make them colorful today, and in many different styles. Looking at our parents' yearbooks, every guy had the same black frame glasses and the girls were no better with the wing tips.
