It's unofficially food week on The B&WE. Today we're advocating replacing your tortilla shells with lettuce and saving 100 to 200 calories per taco. I love lettuce wraps (say from CPK or the like), so the transition to tacos using lettuce as the tortilla was fairly straightforward. Taco shells and tortillas don't add much flavor; I think it is more of a texture thing. Lettuce does the same thing without all the needless carbohydrates. Of course, I am not that crazy to skip the cheese and sour cream. Don't forget the no calorie hot sauce!
