Even though model week is a distant memory, I thought it would be fun to go a different direction with this giant chess set and board. Not that I see a giant chess set that often, but I can't look at one without thinking of Forgetting Sarah Marshall and humping the pieces. My favorite chess player as a kid was Emmanual Lasker. Why? Because no one else seemed to have heard of him and it was interesting to see your opponent's face when you would say that you would be using the Lasker offense/defense for that match. Bobby Fisher proved that chess was half skill, half mind games. A lot of good it did me, though, as I was not that good to begin with.
