Overflowing Creek

I wonder what the motivation was for those who touched up or used straight up old storm photographs and tried to pass them off pictures of Hurricane Sandy during said hurricane? Let's go with stupidity until they are interviewed on 60 minutes. I can certify that this picture was taken inland Maryland on 5Oct2012, when we got a significant amount of rain and some decent gusts of wind. It is of a creek nearby that is usually the quintessential babbling brook passing through the weirdest damn in the world. That day, the brook was a little restless and turned out to be nothing (obviously) like the situations faced in New York and New Jersey. Really, the picture adds nothing to the conversation so I am sorry if you ended up here as this is really for my own documentation.
