Night Football

The stark contrast between the toys in houses of my friends with boys and my house full of girls cannot be overstated. Dolls and dresses rule the day around here, while the boy's kingdoms are filled with sports balls of all types. It is not for lack of trying; I've got soccer balls, lacrosse sticks, and even Mashoonga swords (don't ask). My favorite is this football from Five Below. It came in handy when we had an impromptu night game with only two halogen work lights to provide any kind of visibility. After finding out that my friend's brown ball could not be seen in flight, we busted on the laser ball and when it spins, the silver part reflects light enough to be able to complete passes. Ironically, and by total accident I have the coolest football of all.

Color Pencil Football Catch

I was surprised no one had thought of this before, at least a couple of years ago when I used colored pencils to recreate Santonio Holmes catch in the "big game." To me, it made sense that, with that catch, he was essentially captured the "big trophy." The big trophy, consisting of a football on top of a pedestal, is recreated in this drawing using aluminum foil. Man did I make him skinny.

NES John Elway's Quarterback Cartridge

Anytime Tim Tebow was getting crap from John Elway, he should have just held up this game and not said a word. If he did want to say some words, it should be "this game sucks and you look like an idiot." I really don't remember a redeeming feature about this game, except it was some how fun in the arcade, probably because of Elway's joystick or something.

NES Tecmo Super Bowl Cartridge

No 300+ plays to choose from. No tricky control to master. Just pure unadulterated football with real player names. One of my roommates and I used to play cooperatively, with one of us playing defense and the other offense (we didn't want to get winded playing both ways). Strangely, I don't remember which side of the ball I was better at.
