Xmas in place of Christmas is apparently kosher (poor choice of words) because X supposedly represented Jesus back in the day. An X is also used in situations such as railroad crossings. However, the X in OBX serves neither to represent the Lord or a railroad crossing. This version of the ubiquitous sticker actually defines what OBX refers to, for those that aren't in the know. I hereby propose the X in OBX should stand for a crap load of traffic. Nothing beats being 5 miles as the crow flies from your destination, only for it to take 5 hours by car. I saw a person a wheelchair, A WHEELCHAIR, making better time than us and I come from one of the most congested areas of the country.
