The rhetorical question "where you born in a barn" that is inevitably asked when someone leaves a door open makes no sense. Isn't a barn the one place you want to keep the door closed and wouldn't someone born in such a place understand that? Hopefully, no one asked Jesus this question since he was born in a barn, or a stable, which I think has to be in a barn, or did they make stand alone stables back then? Maybe he intentionally left doors open hoping someone would say something. "Yes, I was in fact born in a barn. Thank you for asking."

Insincere Pumpkin Patch
No Great Pumpkin at this pumpkin patch because if you look closely, all of these pumpkins have had their umbilical cords separated! I haven't looked up the word "sincere" in awhile, but I bet it involves integrity and a whole bunch of other big words that do not apply to an artificially created patch. I say let the little kids run around with knives. Gotta learn sometime.

Rainbow
Many a time when I was little did I go running after the end of a rainbow, stick in hand, to find my pot of gold after warding off those pesky leprechauns. I think I believed in this longer than I believed in Santa. Turns out even if you get to the end of the rainbow, you can't see it. Sort of like the leprechauns. It all makes sense now! Excuse me while I go spend the money I am bound to find with this revelation.

Polaroid PTAB7XC Tablet Front Camera Example Photo
The best cheap tablet (Polaroid PTAB7XC) ever does have a sad sack camera on the front. This may be a good thing if I ever use video calling as it will hide my blemishes. The picture below is an example of the quality of picture. I am thinking 1.2 megapixels? Well, I want to know how to take pictures of things without me in them, accurately. Turning this table around and shooting from the hip has produced interesting results. I guess this blog is now the best and worst ever cell/smartphone, tablet, old camera picture blog. UPDATE: was able to use this tablet camera with Skype for the first time. As I thought, you needed to be a few miles from the surface of the sun in order to have enough light in order for the camera to work effectively. That being said, it worked pretty well for Skype, though it would probably work better with a headphone/microphone plugged in.

Small Hotel Water Fountain
Very bucolic. Actually though, this water is nasty, and on a windy day, the fountain sprays water into your face, and pretty soon you start thinking, "Am I eating goose poop?" Life is full of surprises.

Washington Monument at Dusk
There are probably other monuments to GW, but what other one has been commemorated in Peep form? I took this coming out of the Natural History Museum, and if you look closely, you can see a plane flying by to the left of the monument. The capstone of the monument is a solid piece of aluminum, bought a few years before the Haber process made the making of aluminum economically viable. In other words, Uncle Sam inadvertently dropped the ball.

St. Pete Beach
Many people enjoy touching the plate at a restaurant after the waiter/waitress clearly indicates that the plate is hot just to see what the definition of "hot" is in this particular instance. The Gulf of Mexico was a similar situation for me when I visited St. Pete beach. I was told it was hot, especially in the middle of August, and so I decided to see how "hot" it really was. Long story short: it felt like a hot tub that was inside of a sauna.
Frozen Lake
I've seen enough movies to know you don't walk on a frozen lake unless you live somewhere north of N 46ยบ. Perhaps the Arctic Circle would be even better. Stupid water having a lower density when solid than when liquid. Then again, life wouldn't exist if that weren't true. Maybe I am splitting hairs.
